Meditation and journaling – how can it improve our life?

This process will connect us to our own inner wisdom. The more we connect to our wisdom and the guidance available to us – the easier life becomes. We will feel less stress and find
greater levels of joy, meaning and purpose to our everyday experience. It empowers us to know that we can access helpful information to support us in our daily living.

When is the best time to meditate and journal?

In my experience, it has been most supportive to meditate and journal in the morning when we’re fresh and alert and before we get caught in the busyness of the day.


It’ll assist us in starting our day with a clear mind, positive thoughts and emotions. It fills us with inspiration and also helps us solve problems and challenges. Meditation raises our
vibration and energy so that we begin each day from an empowered place instead of allowing other people and situations to determine our experience for us.

How often do we need to meditate using this practice?

We start with 10 minutes a day because everyone has 10 minutes. That’s how I started, simple and easy. What I noticed, is that it felt so good to sit in such a high vibe energy that I stayed in meditation for longer periods of time. 10 minutes ultimately turned into 60.


Many find it liberating to know that they have a tool available to them at any time should extra
support be needed to rebalance, recenter, or distress.

How does journaling make a difference?

Journaling can help us strengthen our connection to our inner wisdom and divine guidance as we allow the energy to flow through us and anchor it in through writing. Over time, you’ll have a journal that contains all higher wisdom messages that are supportive, uplifting, inspirational and encouraging. It reminds us that we’re not alone and we’re always supported and

incredibly loved.

How to meditate in only 10 minutes a day

Designate a space that is clear of clutter – fill this space with whatever inspires you (crystals, candles, plants, etc.). If it inspires you, it will raise the vibration and energy of your space.

Light your candle.

​

You may also hold your crystal or just have it out by your journal.

​

Sit in an upright position, feet flat on the floor, hands relaxed in your lap. Palms upright and relaxed. Arms and legs should not be crossed. This puts you in a receptive position to receive energy.

 

Sit with your eyes closed in silence or with light meditative music for a minimum of 10 minutes every day.

Focus on your breath and with every breath you breathe into your heart. With every breath your heart center expands. *This brings your heart and brain into coherence – working harmoniously together*

Sit with the intention of receiving beautiful, supportive, divine/intuitive guidance that’s available to you and will support you.

​

Just allow whatever thoughts, emotions, feelings to come through. And, as they do write them in your journal. Don’t analyze or question. Just write what comes to you.

​

At the end of the 10 minutes look back at what you’ve written. You may not remember what you’ve written and you’ll be surprised at the words of wisdom that actually came through. Or, you may notice that the words you’ve written are different than how you normally speak. Enjoy the process and what you’ll learn from this experience.

Music choices – You can play calming, soothing music in the background while you meditate. Binaural beats or meditation music is good. Binaural beats areknown to decrease stress and anxiety. It brings the left and right hemispheres of the brain into coherence which helps with meditation. Here are some examples of music you can listen to while meditating or even as background music while you work:

Kimberly received her BS in Business Administration from The University of Arizona and the University of London, England, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. She is certified as a Master Instructor in Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy, Hypnotherapy with the National Guild of Hypnotists, and is a Mentor of Building Personal Resilience with HeartMath. She has also completed courses in coaching and continuing education with the American Hypnosis Association.
